Separated from her family at seven, she built a peaceful life until her faith made her a target. She fled Congo with her children and reached Dzaleka in 2016, where her husband later joined her.

Andy fled Katanga after rebels killed his father, survived captivity in the forest, and reached Dzaleka on foot and by train. He graduated in Biology-Chemistry and hopes to study at university.
